ArkansasLifeHunting.com will regularly use products that are new or unique in nature. A review will be made and that information along with pictures and product details will be posted here for your review. I would also encourage hunters to submit any comments or personal experiences they may have had with the product and I will make that available, too. Because this information is to help all of us, please let me know if there is a product that you would like me to consider reviewing. Scent Drifter Manufacturer – Housley Outdoors Release Date – 2007 Review Date – 2008-2009 Hunting season (late) Where to Purchase – www.shop.scentdrifter.com MSRP – $29.99 Website – www.scentdrifter.com Using scents, especially doe-in-heat, has been a popular tactic for many years. You can find deer hunters who will not enter the woods without utilizing some form of buck lure, and others who do not use it all and everything in between. Like other products on the market, there is a variety of producers of buck lure and many, many choices available for the hunter. Housley Outdoors, based in Searcy AR, introduced a product last year that focuses on distribution of whatever scent you choose. I believe that this may be the most important piece of using scents and this product may be one of the best innovations in the area of scents in a long, long time. The Scent Drifter is a Scent Dispersing unit that warms the scent and uses an exhaust fan to distribute the odor. I can not think of any way to make buck lure more realistic than warming it. The Scent Drifter has a handy system that allows you to attach most brands of scent directly to the unit or pour into a bottle they include. They also include two wicks with the kit. I purchased my Scent Drifter late in the season and from all indications on our property, I missed the rut completely while testing this product. So, I focused on product features and ease of use. Once the Scent Drifter is loaded with batteries and scent all that is left to do is hang the product and turn the unit on. It is simple and extremely easy to use. The fan is unbelievably quiet and will not spook deer. I used the product at least 3-4 days, morning and evening, and have not replaced the 3 C-batteries yet. The housing appears to be rugged enough for most applications. The only issue I found with using the Scent Drifter was the string supplied to hang the unit could be improved by adding another way to attach to a tree limb. I tied the string from the top of the housing to a D-ring and that way I can quickly and easily hang it before the hunt and take it down when finished.

Included with purchase: Scent Drifter, String, Bottle with Lid, 2 Scent Wicks Additional supplies needed: 3 C-Batteries, Scent, D-Ring (Suggested to make attaching to tree limb quicker), plastic scent-proof bag for storage |
